Fashion labels Marc Jacobs and Valentino have officially made their move on the virtual catwalk by making clothing designs available in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
The two design houses began muscling in on the Animal Crossing market (currently cornered by Able sisters Sable, Mabel and Label) in a collaboration with fashion photographer Kara Chung who runs an Instagram account devoted to the hottest fits in islandwear.
The range includes puffer jackets, hoodies, long dresses, short dresses, branded caps and knit hats and basically anything you might find in the wardrobe of a streetwear hypebeast.
Chung has shot for dozens of brands and labels over the years, including Nike, Adidas, Reebok and German streetwear blog Highsnobiety. For this shoot she used her photography and videography experience to show off these hot new looks using Animal Crossing's in-game camera. To great effect, in our opinion!
You can pick up the Valentino Spring/Summer 2020 island life collection by checking out Chung's Instagram stories for the codes, while Marc Jacobs have posted their creations (including a smart pencil skirt/blouse combo) on their Twitter account.
The sets for these shoots, assembled at Harv's island, evoke the front pages of plenty of high fashion magazines, which Chung has also shot for. Time Magazine, Hypebeast and Paper Magazine have all illustrated their words with her work.
The fashion aspect of Animal Crossing is proving a massive draw to those who have not previously played any of the series' previous entries. The game's potential for replicating real-life scenarios in a time where those are physically impossible due to social distancing restrictions has led to many creative dioramas and compositions.
These aren't limited just to clothes or furniture layouts, either, as long-time crooner of the series K.K. Slider has also been inspiring other artists to work with his (gigantic) back catalogue for fresh new beats.
One of K.K.'s greatest hits, K.K. House, has been reworked by Filipino DJ King "CRWN" Puentespina into a chilled dancefloor-filler. And, of course, to complete the look he had to wear streetwear fashioned after French luxury brand Dior.

The hypebeasts have come for Animal Crossing, and they're proving an even bigger hit than some of our favorite villagers. Have you seen any amazing clothing collabs you had to cop? Let us know in the comments, and drop the creation code if you have it! We need all the fashion!
