What are Liquidation and Delivery in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

After you participate in the Wedding Day Event in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Wilbur will tell you about two new services called Liquidation and Delivery. Naturally, the introduction of these services has players confused about what they’re for and how they can be used. To clear things up, we’ve put together a quick guide explaining what Liquidation and Delivery are in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Liquidation and Delivery are two limited-time services offered by Wilbur, Dodo Airlines’ expert pilot, in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. You’ll first learn about Liquidation and Delivery after participating in the Wedding Day Event on Harv’s Island.

According to Wilbur, you can ship items back to your home free of charge using the “Delivery” service, or sell items in exchange for Bells using the “Liquidation” service.

As exciting as both of these concepts sound, these services are only offered to you when you’re on Harv’s Island and appear to be directly tied to the Wedding Day Event. You can’t use the Liquidation and Delivery services when you’re on a Mystery Island. We know, we’re bummed about this too.

As for why these are being offered to you on Harv’s Island during the Wedding Day Event, it’s likely to aid players in taking Wedding Day Event items home with them after buying them with Heart Crystals. It also lets them sell any unwanted Wedding Day Event items without having to take them back and head over to Nook’s Cranny.

It’s weird the game is offering these services this way, though. You’d think it wouldn’t be a big deal to make multiple trips when buying items, or to just sell the items at Nook’s Cranny. Furthermore, there are only 29 Wedding Day Event items available during the Wedding Day Event, that’s not exactly the volume you’d expect would fill up your inventory and require you to make a delivery.

You also don’t have to bring items with you to use them in the anniversary photos you take for Cyrus and Reese as you’re able to access all of the items you’ve unlocked in the game when designing the room. It’s possible this is a glitch and the services will expand to include Mystery Islands in the future, but that’s purely speculation on our part.

It’d make the most sense to have Delivery and Liquidation available on Mystery Islands and when you visit your friends to buy items and do a little fishing on their island. It’s really weird, but as of right now, Liquidation and Delivery appear to only be available as part of the Wedding Day Event in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. If this changes, we’ll be sure to update this guide and let you know!
