Destiny 2 Stand Against The Darkness - How to get points

Destiny 2’s new Season of Arrivals brings plenty of new challenges to work your way through, but it’s also fair to say that some of them aren’t explained all too well. The Stand Against The Darkness vanguard quest challenges you with earning void and boss kills as well as ‘points’ that aren’t so clearly defined, leaving many players confused as to how to earn them. Thankfully, there’s a simple explanation for the Destiny 2 Stand Against The Darkness quest.

Stand Against The Darkness asks you to gain points by dealing Void damage to enemies. Sounds simple, right? Well what the Destiny 2 Stand Against The Darkness vanguard quest doesn’t make explicitly clear is that you need to do this in the Nightfall Ordeal. Stand Against The Darkness needs you to earn a total of 800,000 Nightfall Ordeal points. You can’t run regular versions or other activities to earn this one.

The description doesn’t make that directly clear to most players, leading to many people grinding through activities with void-based weapons over and over again without making any progress. Thankfully the Stand Against The Darkness quest isn’t bugged, so you can work towards those shaders, all you need to do is head into the Ordeal Nightfall.
