Cyberpunk 2077 delayed (again) into November

Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed further from its original April release date.

Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed from its September 17 release date until November 19, CD Projekt Red announced today.

The delay pushes Cyberpunk even further from its original April date, which was pushed back to September at the start of the year.

CD Project Red announced the delay today in a tweet, explaining that the game is content complete, but there are still a number of things to iron out including balancing game mechanics and squashing bugs.

"At the time we are writing these words, Cyberpunk 2077 is finished both content and gameplay-wise," the studio's co-founder Marcin Iwinski and head Adam Badowski wrote in the update. "The quests, the cutscenes, the skills and items; all the adventures Night City has to offer – it's all there. But with such an abundance of content and complex systems interweaving with each other, we need to properly go through everything, balance game mechanics and fix a lot of bugs. A huge world means a huge number of things to iron out and we will spend the additional time doing exactly that."

While many of us will need to wait an extra month to get our hands on the highly anticipated RPG from the makers of The Witcher series, the studio also confirmed that 'this week, journalists from all over the world are starting to independently play the game'. Previews as a result of this early access to the game – which could be either a limited vertical slice, or a complete build, bugs and all – will be published right after the upcoming look at the game's progress in Night City Wire coming next week, on June 25.

Are you excited to see more of the game next week? Or are you bummed to have to wait even longer? Remember: a delayed game is always better than a rushed one.
