In Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, your Scorestreak progress is maintained between deaths, giving everyone a chance to build upwards. If you manage to get on a roll in a single life, you’ll get bonuses. Earning multiple kills in a single life will grant you a multiplier for objective plays and kills, helping you earn the rarer Scorestreaks. To stop maps from being flooded, each type of scorestreak also has a cooldown timer (90s in the alpha), to stop UAVs and choppers belonging to one skilled player from endlessly clogging the skies.

Black Ops Cold War also brings in more Counter Scorestreaks. Options like the Air Patrol can be used to take out powerful enemy Scorestreaks. You can even call an Air Patrol on your enemy’s Air Patrol, leading to a duel in the skies between both sides’ AI jets. Not very helpful, but certainly cool.

Almost all airborne scorestreaks can also be shot down by players using rockets or LMGs, or a SAM rocket. The Attack Chopper is pretty weak, but the Chopper Gunner will take some work to bring down. The SAM is a specialist power you can choose that can be deployed to take down enemy UAVs and damage choppers. Weapons can also be equipped with a powerful barrel that’s designed to damage vehicles.
