Disney+, EA Play and Destiny 2: Beyond Light coming to Xbox Game Pass

Adding even more value to the Xbox Game Pass, you'll get a Disney+ trial, dozens of EA games and the new Destiny chapter.

Xbox Game Pass has one more coup just before the Xbox Series X launches, and that's a free trial of Disney+, access to dozens of EA games through EA Play and the new chapter of Destiny 2 at launch.

Starting tomorrow, EA Play will be available on Xbox consoles as part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at no additional cost, bringing more than 60 of EA’s biggest games like FIFA 20, Titanfall 2 and Need for Speed Heat to consoles. That also gives you access to some of the EA Play catalogue through Cloud Gaming on Android. Here are the games you can play on Android via Cloud Gaming from the EA Play catalogue:

  • Dragon Age: Inquisition
  • Madden NFL 20
  • Mass Effect: Andromeda
  • Mirror’s Edge Catalyst
  • Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2
  • The Sims 4
  • Unravel 2

Also tomorrow, you'll be able to play the next chapter of Destiny's gigantic space opera. Destiny 2: Beyond Light will reimagine a lot of the game's systems, as well as bringing a new arc to the story of the solar system: "A new power is born out of the ancient Pyramid ship above Europa’s frozen frontier, and a dark empire has risen beneath, united under the banner of the Fallen Kell of Darkness, Eramis. Join your fellow Guardians and bring down the empire at any cost – even if it means wielding the Darkness itself."

And for folks who can't wait until tomorrow, starting today new registrations can get a 30-day trial of Disney+ with their Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership. After your 1-month trial ends it'll automatically renew for $6.99, and as a heads up, if you wait until the end of the year before registering then you can watch all of The Mandalorian in one almighty binge. The second season started the other week but if you sign up now then you'll only be able to watch until episode five or six or something. Just a helpful tip.

There are also plenty of other games being added to Xbox Game Pass throughout this month, including Gears Tactics, Planet Coaster, Tetris Effect: Connected, FF8 Remastered, Gonner2, Streets of Rogue, Ark Survival Evolved, Halo MCC: Halo 4 (PC), River City Girls and Star Renegades. Most of those you can also play on Android thanks to Cloud Streaming.

That really is some coup for Microsoft in making Xbox Game Pass the ultimate companion for next-gen gamers. If that's whet your whistle in wanting an Xbox Series X or S, then check out how they stack up next to each other in our Xbox Series X/S comparison to find out what suits your needs.
