Genshin Impact's open world is filled to the brim with different materials that can be used for crafting, character, and weapon Ascension. One of these that you will encounter is Violetgrass. It's necessary to Ascend Qiqi and Xinyan, so if you're using either of those two, you should be on the lookout. Here is everything you need to know about this fragrant flower from the Liyue region.

Location
Violetgrass can be found in the wild in the Liyue region, usually growing off the sides of mountains. It can also be purchased from Verr Goldet at the Wangshu Inn and Herbalist Gui at the Bubu Pharmacy. They each have five Violetgrass in stock between server refreshes, and they cost 1000 Mora apiece. When you speak to the NPC Mengmeng for the first time she will give you five Violetgrass. You can find her near the Bishui Plain Statue of the Seven in Dihua Marsh. Crafting uses
- Black-Back Perch Stew: "A poached fish dish. The fresh and tasty fish fillets are tender and juicy. The secret to this recipe is adding powdered Violetgrass into the heated oil to give the dish that aromatic scent. It's spicy, but not too spicy." Crafting type-Cooking, amount needed-1, use-Restores 28% of Max HP to the selected character and regenerates 620 HP every 5s for 30s.
- Wanmin Restaurant's Boiled Fish: "Xiangling's specialty. This is the signature dish of the Wanmin Restaurant, combining Xiangling's heartfelt passion for cuisine. Anyone who tastes it will gain a pure appreciation for gourmet food amid the hearty and addictive blend of flavors." Crafting type-Cooking, amount needed-1, use-Restores 34% of Max HP to the selected character and regenerates 980 HP every 5s for 30s.
Character Ascension uses
- Qiqi: 5 star rarity
- Xinyan: 4 star rarity
Weapon Ascension uses
Violetgrass currently cannot be used for Weapon Ascensions.
