With HItman 3 now out in the world, plenty of gamers have been wondering just how much is included in the final entry in IO Interactive’s World of Assassination trilogy. We’ve seen a lot of questions asking if Hitman 3 comes with 1 and 2 included, so here’s the lowdown on exactly that.
Does Hitman 3 come with 1 and 2?
The short answer is no, Hitman 3 does not come with 1 and 2 for free. The longer answer depends on what you’ve owned previously. Hitman 3 will let you access all of the levels from Hitman 1 and 2, provided you already own Hitman 2 on the platform you’re playing it on.
If you’ve played Hitman 1 and 2 on PlayStation 4, for example, then play Hitman 3 on PS4 or PS5, you’ll be able to access the full content from those games for free by downloading the relevant DLC Access Passes from the in-game or PlayStation store. These will be free for anyone who’s played the games before. The same goes for Xbox. Unfortunately, the process can be pretty tricky depending on whether you owned a digital or physical version, so if you’re unsure how to get access, follow the instructions we’ve put together here. PC players will have to wait a touch longer, as IO is still sorting out the details of the free upgrades.
However, if you haven’t played Hitman 1 or 2 before, you can still access the levels in Hitman 3 by purchasing the DLC Access Passes (or buying and playing Hitman 1 or 2 on the console). These are available from the relevant store pages for around the cost of a regular game. It’ll likely be cheaper to pick up the previous games in a sale, but if you can’t wait then the Access Passes are a great way to unlock them quickly.
Once you have the levels, they’ll appear in both the campaign and destination tabs within Hitman 3, meaning you can dive straight into levels like Hokkaido or Sapienza. So while Hitman 3 doesn’t come with 1 and 2 for free for everyone, the levels are available if you’re willing to buy them.
