At Friday's Animal Crossing Direct, Nintendo unveiled plenty of fresh Animal Crossing: New Horizons content, including the 2.0 update and a paid DLC, both of which will be available on November 5.
The free 2.0 update is bringing a lot of older Animal Crossing content back from the past. Fans will be able to visit Brewster's coffee shop, join Kapp'n on his ferry to mystery islands, get their fortunes told by Katrina on Harv's island, and perhaps most exciting of all, Gyroids are back. That's not all though. This update is also adding a ton of new content within the day to day of New Horizons with new hairstyles, house exteriors,KK Slider songs, storage expansions, Nook Miles offerings, a pro camera app for the Nook Phone, and an all new cooking system that uses ingredients grown on your island. If you've ever dreamed of throwing an Animal Crossing dinner party in New Horizons, you'll be able to after the update.
Those looking for even more to do in New Horizons can also splurge on the $24.99 Happy Home Paradise DLC. The bonus content has you visit an archipelago where you help the residents of a resort build their dream homes.You'll be able to add the furniture residents want and to decorate their homes to try and match the overall vibe they're going for. You can also decorate the resort itself. All this interior design will result in new decor techniques you can bring home to your main island.
Players can pre-order Happy Home Paradise starting on October 29. It will also be included in the new Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription launching on October 25 for $49.99/year for one person or $79.99/year for the family plan. Nintendo also announced the Amiibo series 5 cards, which cost $5.99 for a pack of six. These also launch on November 5.
