The second mount you’ll unlock in Pokémon Legends: Arceus is Ursaluna, the mighty treasure-hunting bear. What you won’t unlock, however, is a clear explanation of how to use Ursaluna in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Fortunately, we can help! In this guide we’ll explain how to swap to the mount and how to understand its treasure-hunting capabilities.
How to use Ursaluna in Pokémon Legends: Arceus
For the literal sense of how to use Ursaluna in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, you can ride them in the same manner as Wyrdeer. Use D-Pad left and right to swap between your available mounts, visible above your Pokémon or Item toolbar in the bottom right of the screen. Scroll off Wyrdeer to find the bear face and then press the Plus button to start using Ursaluna.
Once mounted, you can use Ursaluna in Pokémon Legends: Arceus to hunt treasure and during a few other plot points. In front of Ursaluna’s head, you’ll see a green semicircle ping occasionally. When Ursaluna senses treasure in a direction, this circle will begin flashing more aggressively and change color if you face the right direction.
Ursaluna will also run faster when you move in the direction of the treasure. As you grow closer, the semicircle will turn yellow and flash faster. When you’re almost on top of the treasure, it’ll turn red and flash extremely quickly. Once you’re in the right spot, you'll see an exclamation mark appear and the game will prompt you to press Y to dig up the treasure.
If you run in the wrong direction or miss the treasure, the circle will return to green. Turn on the spot and look for the direction in which it starts flashing again. While Ursaluna runs extremely quickly towards treasure, you can stop at any time to reassess the direction.
In short, follow these steps to use Ursaluna in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
- Ride Ursaluna until the circle begins flashing and Ursaluna speeds up
- Move in the direction which keeps the bar flashing
- Follow the direction until the bar turns red and pings rapidly
- Press Y when prompted to dig up treasure.
Ursaluna will only detect treasure within a radius, so we recommend stopping every so often to turn on the spot while mounted and see if anything is nearby. Because you can swap easily, you're free to ride Wyrdeer for a while, then swap to Ursaluna to check for any treasure when you've moves zone.
Now that you know how to use Ursaluna in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, you can head out into the wilds and hunt for rewards hidden in the ground.
