Update June 1, 9am PST: God of War (2018), Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl and Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker are confirmed to be June's PS Plus games.
Original story: The PlayStation Plus free games for June have been leaked online, including rumors of God of War (2018) and Nickelodeon's Smash Bros-like All-Star Brawl.
The leak comes ahead of Sony's State of Play, set to broadcast on June 2, suggesting we could see official confirmation during that showcase. Sony has already tempered expectations for the State of Play by saying it will contain mostly third-party studio announcements, so it's unlikely God of War's inclusion ties in with another look at Ragnarok, though it makes sense to give as many people as possible a chance to play the original before the sequel's long-awaited release, still scheduled for PS4 and PS5 later this year.
Of note is God of War's existing inclusion in the PS Plus Collection, a benefit of the recently revamped subscription service which is only available if you sign in on a PS5 console. This means adding God of War to June's free games will really only be for PS4 players, which must still make up a huge proportion of the PlayStation playerbase after 18 months of stock shortages for the PS5 that show no sign of easing up.
Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker is a long-running multiplayer online team battler, with 4v4 fights featuring ninjas from the anime and manga hit series. The game has recently entered its fourth season of content, so you can get a taster to see if you want to keep playing or grab the season pass.
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is a competent Smash Bros-like, with surprisingly good netcode for online play. Though the decision (at whatever executive or legal level it was made) to not have characters utter any catchphrases or barely make any noises at all while fighting makes for an unnerving experience.
We expect to see official announcement of the PS Plus June games sometime just before the State of Play set to air on June 2.
