Mortal Kombat 1 confirmed character roster

Mortal Kombat 1 revamps the sanguinary series of fighting games, but will it revamp the available characters too? Plenty of favorite return but perhaps not quite as you'd expect. The Mortal Kombat 1 roster has been steadily announced, with confirmed characters coming in for not just the launch roster but pre-order bonuses and a first wave of DLC fighters too. For the latter there are several surprises originating from shows and series outside of the MK universe.

Below, we’ll cover all characters in Mortal Kombat 1 including DLC characters and Kameo fighters. We’ve included details on their place in the story and how you can get access to them and test your might when the fighting game releases on September 19.

Below is the full Mortal Kombat 1 character roster, including all announced DLC fighters at the time of writing. There are 15 confirmed characters for the base game, with Shang Tsung available as a preorder bonus. We’ve marked out the characters not included in the game’s starting roster, and you can find more information on the full cast including Kameo fighters below.

Mortal Kombat 1 Kameo fighters

In Mortal Kombat 1, Kameo fighters act as supports for the main combatants. While not explicitly playable, they can be called by spending a meter to unleash attacks or moves that’ll help extend combos, boost damage, or save their main fighter from a beating. 

For the game’s release, Kameo fighters tend to only appear in classic outfits. Note that being an exclusive Kameo fighter doesn’t mean a character won’t join the main roster down the line. These are all the confirmed Kameo fighters in Mortal Kombat 1 so far.

Mortal Kombat 1 character story details
