The March 14 Nintendo Direct just rocked up and dumped a truckload of remakes and new announcements for all Nintendo Switch owners to enjoy. With Mario vs. Donkey Kong, Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door, F-Zero 99 and much more shown off, there was plenty to process. Take a moment to catch your breath, because we’ve got everything shown off in the March 14 Nintendo Direct collected below.
Nintendo Direct recap - March 14
Splatoon 3 Expansion Pass Wave 2
First up was Splatoon 3’s Side Order singleplayer DLC, arriving in Wave 2 of the game’s Expansion Pass. It arrives Spring 2024.
Mario vs. Donkey Kong
Next was the reveal of a remake of the Game Boy Advance title Mario vs. Donkey Kong. It’s been updated with new visuals and local co-op. It releases February 16, 2024.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
We then got another trailer for Ubisoft’s side-scrolling Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. It shows off protagonist Sargon’s weapons and upgrades. The game releases January 18, 2024.
Horizon Chase 2
Here’s a trailer for arcade racer Horizon Chase 2, which features four-player local multiplayer and online play. It’s out today.
Super Crazy Rhythm Castle
Time button presses to take on puzzles and monsters in this musical action game. There’s a four-player mode with local co-op and online play. Releases November 14.
SpyxAnya: Operation Memories
The Switch is getting a rather wholesome looking spinoff game based on the SpyxFamily anime. You play as Anya and make cherished memories with your family and friends. It’s due to release in 2024.
Super Mario RPG
That was followed by a new trailer showcasing some updates arriving in Super Mario RPG including the option to replay boss fights after beating the game. Its out November 17.
Another Code Recollection
DS games Another Code: Two Memories and Another Code R: Journey into Lost Memories have been revamped for Switch. The enhanced collection releases January 19, 2024.
Princess Peach Showtime
Princess Peach’s personal game gets its name. Princess Peach Showtime sees Peach partner with a theater guardian called Stella to save the play. Transform into outfits like Swordfighter Peach, Detective Peach, and Kung Fu Peach to access new powers. Princess Peach Showtime releases March 22, 2024.
SaGa Emerald Beyond
Take command of one of six protagonists to discover their stories in this multi-layered RPG. Your choices will unlock different paths through the tale. SaGa Emerald Beyond is set to release in 2024.
Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered Collection
The first three Tomb Raider games and their expansions will be bundled into one remastered collection on Switch. You’ll be able to toggle between the original polygonal visuals and the remastered look on the fly. Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered Collection releases February 14, 2024.
Detective Pikachu Returns
Tim interviews people. Pikachu interviews Pokémon. It’s a new Detective Pikachu, and it’s out on October 6.
Trombone Champ
The meme-worthy music game Trombone Champ comes to Switch. The new version includes amusing control schemes including using the Joy-Con Gyros or even IR sensor to hit those notes. It’s available today.
Battle Crush
A cartoony top-down battle royale which plays out on a crumbling island. KO or knock opponents off as you aim to be the last team standing. It releases spring 2024, with a beta test due this October.
Wartales
Next up was a quick look at Wartales, a medieval-themed open-world tactical RPG. It features online co-op for up to three players. Wartales launches today.
Contra: Operation Galuga
Here’s a “reimagining” of the classic Contra series from Konami & Wayforward. It’ll feature pick-up-and-play controls, new weapons, and super attacks. Four-player co-op is supported. Contra: Operation Galuga is due to release early in 2024.
Unicorn Overlord
Touted as the “rebirth of the tactical fantasy RPGs,” Unicorn Overlord is a new game from Vanillaware and Atlas. It’ll see you exploring a large world to built up an army amid a tale of give nations. It’s set to release on March 8, 2024.
Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD
Luigi’s second haunted outing is the next on the remaster list. Grab your Poltergust out of the attic in time for release in Summer 2024.
Nintendo Museum
Previously announced as Nintendo gallery, the Nintendo Museum in Kyoto, Japan will display a wide variety of Nintendo products from the company’s history. Construction is planned to be finished by the end of March 2024. #NintendoDirect pic.twitter.com/uZM9DV4Uws

We then got a brief diversion from games to talk about the Nintendo Museum which is set to finish construction in Kyoto in March 2024. It’ll host items from throughout Nintendo history. There’s no opening date just yet.
Amiibo

That was followed by several amiibo announcements. Zelda & Ganondorf’s Tears of the Kingdom incarnations will be available November 2, Noah and Mio from Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will release January 19, 2024. Finally, Kingdom Hearts’ Sora will join the Super Smash Bros. collection in 2024.
F-Zero 99
Nintendo’s next battle royale spinoff is F-Zero 99. Race in a pack of 99 players to be the last one standing. Conserve your power meter by avoiding collisions with other players or corners, then spend it as boost meter to get you the lead. It’s available today for Switch Online members.
Bandle Tale: A League of Legends Story
We then saw a pixel-art League of Legends spinoff game in which you gather resources to use knitting magic and repair a town with your Yordle friends. It’s due to release in 2024.
Song of Nunu: A League of Legends Story
A second League of Legends spinoff game came in the form of Song of Nunu, which looks to be a 3D platformer following the champion pairing as they traverse a snowy landscape. It releases November 1.
WarioWare: Move It!
We got a further look at the various embarrassing poses WarioWare: Move It will force us to adopt in order to complete rapid microgames. Over 200 are include and you can duke it out with friends in four-player party mode. It releases November 3.
Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes
Next was a new trailer for Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, a grand fantasy RPG mixing pixel-art characters with 3D worlds. It’s set to launch April 23, 2024.
Eastward: Octopia
Eastward is getting a new standalone DLC story following DLC. Sam & John as they adjust to country life in a mountainside village. Restore buildings and help the town thrive as the two characters make themselves a home.
Wargroove 2
Wargroove 2 is nearly here, releasing October 5 on Nintendo Switch. The turn-based strategy sequel features three campaigns, a new mousefolk faction, and a roguelike conquest mode. Players can also create their own cutscenes and custom campaigns to share online.
Dave the Diver
The immensely popular Steam game will make a splash on Switch next month. Dive underwater to find ingredients by day, then manage your sushi restaurant in the evening. It releases October 26.
Mario Kart 8 Booster Course Pass Wave 6
Nintendo then gave us a look at the final wave of the Mario Kart 8 Booster Course Pass. Daisy Circuit joins the track list, while Diddy Kong, Funky Kong, Pauline, and Peachette join the character roster. It’ll arrive Winter 2024. There’s also a physical Booster Course Pass coming on October 6 with stickers and extra stuff.
Among Us The Fungle map
A new map comes to Among Us set on an island covered with towering fungi. It releases this October.
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
Finally, Nintendo saved a much-requested remake for last. The GameCube’s Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is being updated with enhanced graphics for a 2024 release.
