Defeat the Scrapped Watchman, Lies of P’s second major boss, and you’ll be able to find a small item called the Faded Whistle on a bench littered with candles which has the word “Friend” etched into the ground in front of it. You can use the Faded Whistle from your inventory to blow a note, but it’s also an optional side mission item you can use to make a sick boy’s day and earn a handy reward while you’re at it. The Faded Whistle needs to be used next to a specific window in the Elysion Boulevard area. If you explored the level thoroughly, you may have encountered a window you could listen in at to hear a sick boy called Toma talking about his puppet policeman friend Murphy. Don’t worry if not, as we’ll guide you there.

With the Faded Whistle in your inventory, use a Stargazer to fast travel and you should see a small whistle icon next to the Inside the House on Elysion Boulevard teleport location. Warp there, then head forward out of the window and past the first few sets of puppets until you reach the right side edge of the roof. There's a ladder down from here next to a few boxes and wooden scaffolding.

Look down from here and you’ll see a glowing window next to some barrels on the street below. It’s there that we’re headed. If you haven’t done so already, interact with the window to listen to the sick boy inside. He’ll say something about missing Murphy. Now, navigate to the Collectible section of your bag and use the Faded Whistle while standing by the window.

The boy inside will react, saying how pleased he is that Murphy has visited him but that he’s too sick to come out and play. You’ll then be rewarded with a Radiant Ergo Fragment for your kindness. Best not to mention that you just destroyed his rogue puppet pal.
