PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' developer is not happy with Fortnite's Battle Royale mode

In a surprising move, PUBG creator, Bluehole, has made a press release regarding the similarities between their game and Fortnite’s new Battle Royale mode. Vice president, Chang Han Kim has spoken out against Epic’s title, stating “we are concerned that Fortnite may be replicating the experience for which PUBG is known.” and cite community concerns about the similarities.

In addition, Chang Han Kim is concerned with the use of PUBG in Fortnite's promotion. “This was never discussed with us and we don’t feel that it’s right,” Chang expressed, and before suggesting the company will “contemplate further action.”

What this means is yet to be made clear. PUBG was hardly the first Battle Royale mode, as the game’s own creator, Brendan Greene worked on H1Z1: King of the Kill. However, Bluehole seem to think certain aspects of Fortnite lie just a little too close for comfort when it comes to user interface and the game’s structure. Epic Games has yet to comment on the matter.
