Street Fighter V Season 3 balance update patch notes nerf Abigail, everyone else

The long-awaited balance update to Street Fighter V Arcade Edition is coming tomorrow, April 3, and will bring some much needed nerfs to Abigail for the pro circuit.

However many of the other prospective changes have players up in arms as almost every single character in SFV's extended roster is being hit with some alterations in one of the biggest shake-ups in the game's history.

As well as attempting to level the playing field ahead of a stacked summer of esports on the Capcom Pro Tour, including EVO, CEO, Stunfest and Combo Breaker, the patch is set to throw a spanner in the works for anyone working their way up the ladder.

Abigail's changes are the most in-depth as the beefy Canadian suffers an entire page of alterations, chiefly consisting of nerfs, to try and address his domination at lower skill levels.

However, even unpopular fighters such as Akuma have been hit with the nerfstick, despite only appearing in the top 10 of pro tournaments because Hajime "Tokido" Tanaguchi is an unstoppable demon himself.

Tokido's latest victory at NorCal Regionals puts him almost 300 points clear at the top of 2018's Capcom Pro Tour standings. Clearly that's strong enough to force an Akuma nerf for the number crunchers at Capcom towers.
