GT Sport car classes and full track list revealed

Sony has released full details on the car classes and tracks available in Gran Turismo Sport, the long-awaited first PlayStation 4 installment in Polyphony Digital's seminal racing series.

A PlayStation Blog update bearing series creator Kazunori Yamauchi's byline reveals that there will be six categories of car in GT Sport, from Group N (everyday stock cars) through to Group X (those too extreme for other categories).

Here's some examples of different cars in each class:

Track-wise, there's the usual huge variety among the various locations and configurations, including stalwarts like Brands Hatch, Nurburgring, Suzuka and Tokyo Expressway.

Gran Turismo Sport's time-limited demo version launches October 9 for PlayStation Plus members, with progress carrying over to the main game, which launches October 17.
