Astro Gaming, known for their A-series gaming headsets and audio peripherals, is now the newest member of the Logitech family, according to announcements made this week by both companies.

“We believe our history of producing award-winning headsets for pro esports and console gamers perfectly complements the PC gaming expertise Logitech G is best known for,” says the headset developers in their recent blog announcement. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to team up with them to bring our gaming expertise together.”
According to Polygon, Logitech has confirmed that they purchased Astro Gaming from their parent company, Skullcandy, to the tune of $85 million. Logitech also assures gamers that the acquisition won’t change the face of the Astro brand as we know it. “We know you love (or will love) ASTRO just as much as we do. So the ASTRO brand, and their awesome products aren’t going anywhere,” said Logitech in their announcement post.
The partnership allows these two brands to combine their knowledge and expertise from both console and PC gaming realms. Since many gamers already own some combination of Logitech and Astro Gaming peripherals (I’m even using a Logitech G502 while wearing an Astro headset right now), this seems like a suitable pairing and hopefully both development teams will transition smoothly.
