Is Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 coming to Switch?

Treyarch blitzed the news last week with a blockbuster reveal for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, which promises to shake up the world-conquering shooter by ditching the story campaign, reinventing mutliplayer and adding a battle royale mode. You can catch up on all the big changes right here.

There was one lingering question, however: is there a plan to bring the game to Nintendo Switch?

And now we have an unequivocal answer, direct from Treyarch producer Yale Miller, courtesy of Twinfinite: “No there is not.”

Call of Duty's relationship with Nintendo platforms has been complicated. The first Black Ops got a Wii version back in 2010, Black Ops 2 came to Wii U in 2012, and even got a 3DS handheld release, but Black Ops 3 skipped Nintendo platforms completely.

With the Switch's commercial success, and the fact that the acclaimed reboot of Doom got a great Switch port, fans can be forgiven for hoping that Black Ops 4 might get converted in some form.

It seems, for the foreseeable future at least, that such a thing is not on the cards.
