Ninja Theory, Playground Games and more join Microsoft Studios

The Microsoft Studios family has grown bigger with five developers joining the ranks as Microsoft increases investment in game makers.

Forza studio Playground Games and Hellblade makers Ninja Theory are the biggest names to join Microsoft, along with State of Decay devs Undead Labs.

Compulsion Games, developers of dystopian weird thing We Happy Few (which also got a new trailer and release date of August 10) also join the family, while Microsoft are setting up a new wing of the Xbox division to support game makers using their Xbox and Windows platforms.

The Initiative aims to get more games onto Microsoft's side of the console war as they have been criticized over the past few years for their threadbare line-up.
