World of Tanks March Mapness Tournament Begins March 24th

In celebration of the ongoing March Madness basketball playoffs, Wargaming will soon be hosting its own tournament for World of Tanks which it has dubbed “March Mapness.”

According to the official tournament page, March Mapness will begin this upcoming Friday, March 24th, and will last until Sunday, March 26th. The tournament will feature 4v4 battles in which teams can use any Tier III-VI vehicle, and the reason behind the “March Mapness” moniker is because players will actually get to vote on some of the maps they compete on (so far, the Himmelsdorf and Prokhorovka maps have been confirmed).

Interestingly enough, for the March Mapness tournament, Wargaming will be using a far-reaching percent-based scale to determine which teams are awarded prizes once the tournament is over and what those prizes will be.

As you can see in the scale below, unless your team is at the very bottom of the rankings, you’ll get something for your troubles.

• Winning Team: Type 59, 10,000 Gold, 90 days of Premium Account time, Gun Rammer mod, Coated Optics mod, Vertical Stabilizer mod, and a Booster Pack.
• Top 1 Percent of Teams (not including the winning team): Pz. 58 Mutz, 8,000 Gold, 90 days of Premium Account time, Gun Rammer mod, Coated Optics mod, Vertical Stabilizer mod, and a Booster Pack.
• Top 2-3 Percent: M4A1 Revalorise, 6,000 Gold, 60 days of Premium Account time, and a Booster Pack.
• Top 4-5 Percent: SU-122-44, 5,000 Gold, 30 days of Premium Account time, and a Booster Pack.
• Top 6-10 Percent: Type 62, 4,500 Gold, 14 days of Premium Account time, and a Booster Pack.
• Top 11-20 Percent: Strv m/42-57 Alt A.2, 3,500 Gold, seven days of Premium Account time, and a Booster Pack.
• Top 21-30 Percent: TOG II, 2,500 Gold, three days of Premium Account time, and a Booster Pack.
• Top 31-40 Percent: Churchill III, 1,500 Gold, three days of Premium Account time, and a Booster Pack.
• Top 41-50 Percent: T14, 1,000 Gold, and a Booster Pack.
• Top 51-60 Percent: M4 Improved, 500 Gold, and a Booster Pack.
• Top 61-70 Percent: Pz. Kpfw. S35 739 (f), 350 Gold, and a Booster Pack.
• Top 71-80 Percent: 350 Gold and a Booster Pack.
• Top 81-85 Percent: Premium Consumables and a Booster Pack.
• Top 86-90 Percent: Booster Pack.
