Before you can begin using the Create a Class option in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, you’ll first need to unlock it. In the game, Create a Class automatically unlocks once you reach Level 5 in multiplayer.

To reach Level 5, simply play through the multiplayer component to earn experience. What’s nice is that you don’t have to be particularly good at multiplayer to earn experience and level up. Once you’ve unlocked Create a Class in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, you may be wondering how to use it. In a nutshell, Create a Class allows you to construct custom loadouts comprised of your favorite weapons. A “loadout” in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is comprised of your primary weapon, secondary weapon, perks, wildcards, special issue equipment, and gear.

Note that Create a Class is different from the customizable Specialists available in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Options for primary weapons in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 include the following:

  • Assault Rifles
  • Submachine Guns
  • Tactical Rifles
  • Light Machine Guns
  • Sniper Rifles

Options for secondary weapons in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 include the following:

  • Pistols
  • Shotguns
  • Launchers
  • Melee

In Create a Class, you can craft your loadout to your liking. First, select a primary weapon from the options available. If you’ve unlocked skins and/or attachments for this weapon, you can equip them here. Next, select a secondary weapon from the options available and equip a skin and/or attachment for it if you have one available.

To unlock skins for a weapon, you’ll need to complete designated challenges tied to that weapon as listed in the customization menu of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Meanwhile, the slot system in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is similar to previous installments in the series where everything you add to your loadout takes up one of 10 available slots.

By using Create a Class, you’ll be able to quickly select your favorite loadout before entering a multiplayer match. Additionally, Create a Class is a great way to track the weapons and unlocks you earn as you progress through the game.
