Fast travelling is incredibly easy in Red Dead Redemption 2. Simply open up your map and look for any locations with a Post Office icon. Once you’ve located the nearest Post Office on your map, you’ll want to saddle up and head over to it. There will be a Station Clerk inside the building and you’ll have options to Send Mail, Receive Mail, Train Tickets, and Pay Bounty. However, if you want to quicken up your journey, you’re going to want to purchase some Train Tickets. The Station Clerk will then list all of the Stations that you’ve unlocked throughout your cowboy faring adventures. Of course, the longer the trip, the more expensive your tickets will be, so make sure you have enough money to pay your fare. Thankfully, there are plenty of ways to make money in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Purchasing a ticket will then initiate a short cinematic that shows the train travelling across the dusty lands. However, to make full use of the Train, you’ll need to do a bit of travelling to find all the Stations, but it’s worth it if you wish to save some time without breaking the immersion and the bank. Unfortunately, your trusty steed won’t be able to travel with you. Don't worry though, as you need only boot up a mission and your beloved companion should magically spawn in as if conjured by some strange horse teleportation device.

While the Train is certainly faster than travelling the land by horse, it requires you to actually unlock various stations, so if you’re after an even quicker method, you’ll want to head to the Van der Linde camp. At the back of Dutch’s quarters, there is a ledger and the option to contribute to the camp. Open the ledger and look under the Lodging section. Under Next in Line, it will say, “Arthur wants a map to help plan journeys.” This upgrade costs $325 but it will put a fast-travel map on the back of Arthur’s quarters. However, you can only travel to locations that you’ve discovered. There are plenty of options available, so make sure you give each a try whenever you need to get somewhere fast.

You can also travel by Stagecoach, if you see one hanging out by the Post Office. You don't need to go inside and talk to the Station Clerk to buy tickets for these, just find a willing and able coach driver to get you the rest of the way!
