Limited Research is a new Global Event for Pokemon GO

Limited Research is a new global event for Pokémon Go starting next weekend.

Saturday January 19 is when the new event kicks off, a week after tomorrow's Totodile-themed Community Day. Limited Research runs during the same Community Day hours (11am - 2pm PT, 2PM - 5PM ET, 10am - 1pm GMT) and offers the chance for players to earn a shiny Pokémon by completing various tasks earned on the day. Here's the full event schedule:

All you need to do to receive these challenges is visit a PokéStop and spin the Photo Disc. In essence it's similar to the Squirtle Squad tasks from previous events you may have taken part in.

Complete the challenges set and you'll receive a Pokémon encounter with a good chance to be a shiny. The Pokémon in question this time round is the old fish Feebas, who levels up into the stunning Milotic with a high enough beauty. It's worth noting that in the Squirtle Squad event, only certain PokéStops would reward shiny encounters, so stay in touch with any other Pokémon GO friends to see who's having success and where.

Until then there's still the Totodile Community Day to take part in tomorrow during the same hours listed above. Catch one of these starters and evolve it to Feraligatr within an hour of the event's end and it'll learn Hydro Cannon as a plus. Are you still playing Pokémon Go and taking part in Community Events?
