Following the Black Armory update to Destiny 2, players have been wondering what to do with Forge Polymer. Offered by ADA-1, Forge Polymer can be purchased in exchange for Legendary Shards (similar to Exotic items on offer from Xur) and Black Armory Schematic. Once you have Forge Polymer in your inventory, the next step is figuring out what to do with it.
If you already have a supply of Forge Polymer, or noticed it available from ADA-1 and have been wondering whether or not to purchase the item, we’ve got you covered. Below, we’ll quickly walk you through what to do with Forge Polymer in Destiny 2!
What to do With Forge Polymer in Destiny 2
As noted above, Forge Polymer can be acquired by paying a visit to ADA-1 in Destiny 2. As long as you have 10 Legendary Shards and 6 Black Armory Schematic on hand, you’ll be able to purchase Forge Polymer. Note that you’re only allowed to purchase and hold one Forge Polymer at a time. Once you’ve consumed your Forge Polymer, you’re free to return to ADA-1 and purchase another.
While Legendary Shards are relatively straightforward, you may be wondering how to obtain Black Armory Schematic. Black Armory Schematic is a drop that can be earned by dismantling Black Armory weapons. For example, if you get duplicates of a Black Armory weapon or frame, you can dismantle the spare and in doing so, potentially earn a Black Armory Schematic drop.
We recommend having ample space available in your inventory before dismantling Black Armory weapons in order to increase your chances of earning a Black Armory Schematic drop. After purchasing Forge Polymer using Legendary Shards and Black Armory Schematic, you’ll likely be wondering what to do with it.
The item description for Forge Polymer reads: “When consumed, this valuable substance allows you to obtain a piece of armor upon successfully forging a Black Armory weapon.” Essentially, Forge Polymer grants you a free armor reward when you forge a Black Armory weapon from a compatible weapon frame.
Only Black Armory weapon frames will grant the armor drop, no other weapon types offer this reward when forged. To redeem your armor you’ll want to make your way over to one of the Black Armory forges. Once there, consume the Forge Polymer item in your inventory before you do anything else. With the item consumed, you can then begin crafting a Black Armory weapon in the forge.
When done correctly, you’ll not only get a fully functional Black Armory weapon
