If you’re unfamiliar with the Hoenn region in general, it launched with games like Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. In the Hoenn region, you’ll find fun starters like the Fire-type Torchic, Water-type Mudkip, and Grass-type Treecko. All of these Pokémon evolve into powerful Pokémon like Sceptile, Blaziken, and Salamence.

If you catch enough of these starters, you should have enough Candy available to evolve them before the event ends. Alongside Hoenn starters, you’ll see an uptick in spawns for Pokémon like Seedot, Poochyena, and Taillow in Pokémon GO. Not only can you expect to catch more Hoenn Pokémon over the next week and a half, you can expect other Hoenn-related highlights including the following:

Overall, there’s a lot to look forward to in the Hoenn event which is scheduled to run from today, January 15, until Tuesday, January 29.
