Days Gone recently made its way onto the PlayStation 4 and one of the things that players loved about the open-world zombie title was not only the protagonist Deacon, but his sweet ride as well. Even better? His iconic bike has been recreated IRL and the team over at PlayStation couldn't wait to share the progress.
The bike in the game is incredibly realistic. Players need to keep her fueled up, and not taking care of it can drastically reduce its usability. The same can be said for the recreation created by the team from PlayStation Nordic where the "four Danes" assembled to make one epic bike.
One thing about this team is that they know their stuff and they were definitely up to the task of making Deacon's bike a reality. According to the most recent blog post by PlayStation, "Patrick is the project lead, and has been given the task of recreating the bike in real life. The garage manager Andreas has been responsible for a motorcycle repair shop for years and knows all the ins and outs of motorcycles. The team's designer, Rakel, takes care of drafts and sketches. The fourth and last member is Fabian, a mechanic experienced in welding, metal works and building all sorts of vehicles."
But this reconstruction was much more than just a simple paint job, it was a total overhaul. They began by extracting a bike from the junk yard - perfect for that post-apocalyptic authenticity - and spent endless hours on tailoring it to the game's specification. The result? Perfect, which you can see above!
Unfortunately we can't own the bike IRL, but the team did inspire those creative juices! Maybe we'll be seeing even more Deacon replicas in the near future!
As for the game itself, Days Gone is now available exclusively for PlayStation 4.
