Can't move in Dauntless? Here's how to get unstuck

Found yourself inside a wall or the floor and can't move? Here's how to get unstuck in Dauntless.

Dauntless offers an enjoyable alternative take on the Monster Hunter formula, and while it’s in excellent shape generally, it lacks polish in a few areas. It’s not all that uncommon to end up stuck in the scenery during a hunt or patrol and find you can't move. If this should happen, you might think your hunt is scuppered, but thankfully developer Phoenix Labs has included a built-in feature to deal with these occurrences. If you can't move in Dauntless, this is how to get unstuck.

If you happen to find that you're stuck in a part of the level you can’t escape from, or are partially inside a cliff face or the floor and can't move, you’ll need to use the “Help, My Character Is Stuck!” feature. This is a very handy, but well-hidden option if you can't move in Dauntless. To access this, open up your menu and select the HELP button at the bottom of your screen. This will take you to a menu which allows you to send feedback, report other players and, crucially, free yourself by selecting Help, My Character Is Stuck.

Clicking this button will help you get unstuck by resetting your position to the start of the hunt. This means you’ll need to run all the way back to the fight again if it’s a long way from the beginning area, but that’s a small price to pay to actually let you continue playing. Obviously, this feature is only meant to help you escape from bugs, so don’t click this option unless you really need to or you’ll find yourself bumped back to the beginning of the hunt, leaving your allies behind to fend for themselves.

Now that you know what to do if you can't move in Dauntless, you’re all set to begin mastering the game. Kick things off by learning how to stagger your enemies by hitting them over the head with a big old hammer!
