Monster Hunter World: Iceborne trailer shows off Glavenus and teases Brachydios

The newest trailer for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne trailer highlights the fearsome, blade-tailed Glavenus and gives us another tease of Brachydios too.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is due for release this Septermber, and Capcom has been ramping up excitement by steadily teasing more recognizable monsters who will make their return on the frosty new continent of the expansion

This latest trailer focusses on Glavenus, a powerful carnivore with a sword-like tail that it ignites by sweeping it across the floor. A returning creature from Monster Hunter Generations, Glavenus will be getting new moves for its entry into World. While it largely relies on its tail to attack, sticking close to those jaws is going to prove equally dangerous given Glavenus can also breathe fire.

The trailer also gives us another brief tease that the phallic-headed Brachydios will be making a return. At the end of the trailer we see the oh-so-recognizable Uragaan with its distinctive butt-chin taken out by a series of explosions. It's not set in stone, but given the explosions appear to come from slime, the trailer certainly implies Brachydios is to blame for killing off Uragaan. It's good to know that slimy head cannon defeats butt chin in Monster Hunter hierarchy. We’ll have to wait for further details though for full confirmation of Brachydios.

Other new monsters in Iceborne include versions of the Fulgar Anjanath and Ebony Odogaron. The former has gained an electrical coating that charges its attacks, while the latter is a souped-up beast with a dragon element affinity in Iceborne. Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is due to release September 6 on PS4 and Xbox One, with the PC version due to arrive in Winter 2019.
