If you’re early in the story of Borderlands 3, you might want to stop reading here to avoid any spoilers. If you don’t mind learning more, let’s continue and learn how to get Eridium in Borderlands 3 so you can start buying all that sweet stuff.

To get Eridium in Borderlands 3 you’ll need to have reached the first Vault in the game. What do you mean you didn’t know there were going to be vaults? You’re a Vault Hunter for a reason, dammit! Once you complete this big hurdle you’ll collect an artifact which can be used to break the Eridium Crystals you may have spotted around the various planets and areas you visit.

With this artifact added to your collection, any time you approach an Eridium crystal you’ll see a message pop up telling you to melee them. One quick whack will be enough to smash the crystal and send Eridium flying out in different directions. As soon as you unlock this ability you’ll be able to earn a lot more Eridium while gunning your way through the worlds of Borderlands 3, so keep your eye out for Eridium wherever you go.

Don’t forget, you can also get Eridium by defeating Anointed enemies and completing challenges that pop up on your map. They’ll only reward with small quantities but you can usually loop through larger areas to cause the Anointed enemies to respawn so that you can farm them for Eridium.

Thanks to Shacknews for use of their Eridium image.
