Need for Speed Payback players will be able to roam freely across the online game map sometime in 2018, the developers announced yesterday.
The official Need for Speed account made the announcement while tweeting best wishes for the New Year.
In a series of replies, the official account added that the online free roam mode would be "free to everyone" but couldn't specify when it will go live.
Hopefully it won't be too long, although many fans already feel it has been - online free roam was included in Ghost Games' last Need for Speed title in 2015, so its absence from Payback was a bit of a sore point.
