The Luigi's Mansion 3 gem locations are sometimes easy to spot but hard to actually get to, so you may need a little help heading in the right direction.
We've dug out as many of the Luigi's Mansion 3 gem locations we've come across so far and solved how to actually get your hands on them, so if you're stuck how to get one that you can see and are tantalizingly close to bagging it we may be able to lend a hand. Below you'll find a list of every floor of the hotel and where to find each of the gems on it. Gems are listed in the order they appear on your menu screen so if you have an empty slot then just look at the bullet point number for the one you're missing and you'll be able to find out where to go. Or just check for which color you're missing, the same six colors are used on each floor. Here are all Luigi's Mansion 3 gem locations we've found so far. We'll continue to update this list.
Luigi's Mansion 3 gem locations
There are six gems per floor of the hotel in Luigi's Mansion 3, we've explained how to get each with pictures where necessary. If you need to find out where a gem location is, go to the floor and check the names of the rooms on the map. Head there and you'll see what you need to do.
B2 Gem locations – Waterworks
- White gem:
- Red gem: Waterworks - Head to the left and down through the green pipes with Gooigi, you'll need to drain the water using the valve and then he can grab the gem.

- Yellow gem: Elevator Hall - Walk to the far right, there are a series of pipes and platforms with the gem in the top left. Have Gooigi enter the second pipe and then walk left on the raised platform to pick up the gem.
B1 Gem locations – Basement
- White gem: Parking Garage - zap the car trunk with your flashlight
- Red gem: Parking Garage - head to the far left and use Gooigi to slip inside the generator enclosure. Suck up the switch housing and flash the bulb inside to open the gem door.
- Blue gem: Parking Garage - use the plunger on the vent next to the pink car to get into the elevator shaft, climb up the ladder and have Gooigi fall through to collect the gem.
- Green gem: Laundry Room - use the plunger on the middle washing machine door then pull the door off using your Polgtergust suction.
- Purple gem: Service Hallway - use the dark light to reveal the painting in the hallway on your way back to E.Gadd's car.
- Yellow gem: Service Stairwell - you can see it sparkling under the stairs but you'll need to use Gooigi to slip through the grate above it.
1F Gem locations – Grand Lobby
- White gem: Lobby - go to the very far left and use the dark light to reveal a couch under the open window. Defeat the ghost that emerges with it and you'll have your prize.
- Red gem: Elevator Hall - there's a painting of the hotel next to the elevator with vases on the shelf next to it. Hit the cog below it with a plunger to activate a switch, sliding the painting open to reveal the gem.
- Blue gem: Lobby - you can see this one in a case above the left-side lobby concierge desk. To get it, you'll need to go to the mezzanine above and roll up the carpet by blowing on the end. Underneath the carpet is a grate for Gooigi to drop through. Once inside, use the burst move (ZR+ZL) to get your gem.
- Green gem: Elevator Hall - right next to the elevator you can see a green gem tangled up in a plant. Use a plunger on the pot and then slam it around to free the gem.
- Purple gem: Lobby - use burst (ZR+ZL) to get behind the front desk and then zap the light switch to the right of the mail slots. They'll slide back to reveal your prize.
- Yellow gem: Lobby - there are two squares on the ground on either side of the main lobby hall near the side tables, they're pressure pads. Stand on one and use Gooigi to activate the other and then spin the chandelier that lowers with your Poltergust to drop the final gem.
2F Gem locations – Mezzanine
- White gem: Restroom - Use the plunger to open the right-hand cubicle door to interrupt a ghost while reading the newspaper. Defeat them for a gem. (What a crappy day they're having)
- Red gem: Ballroom - Use the Poltergust on the chandelier to make it spin, revealing a hidden room with this gem on the table.
- Blue gem: Kitchen - Use your plunger to open the left-hand fridge, somewhere on the shelves is a gem frozen in an ice cube. Suck it up and take it over to the gas burner to thaw it out.
- Green gem: Dressing Room - Suck up all the coats on the clothes rack to the far left and you'll find a safe. Flash it with your light to open up for a prize.
- Purple gem: Entertainment Room - Suck up the sword mounted on the wall next to the billiards table and fire it at the dartboard. One hundred and EIGHTY!
- Yellow gem: Hallway - At the entrance to the restaurant you'll see two rotor-shaped collections of cutlery either side of the door. Use yourself and Gooigi to make them spin with the Poltergust and the light will open up above your heads.
3F Gem locations – Hotel Shops
- White gem: Elevator Hall - Once you're through into the main mall, head upstairs and opposite the entrance to the Gift Shop on the right of the escalators you'll see a gate. Burst (ZR+ZL) it open and follow the path all the way back through the Elevator Hall to a hidden room in the ceiling.
- Red gem: Boutique - In the clothes store hit the mannequin on the left with a plunger and pull it down, a mechanism at the base will open a hidden door behind a mirror. Go through for a chest and then vacuum the red gem off its shelf.
- Blue gem: Hallway - Outside the security office keep flashing the vending machine switch until it pops a gem out.
- Green gem: Upper Lobby - To the left of the Accessory store (left of the escalators) there's a broken ladder. Use the dark light to restore it and climb up for a gem at the end of a bat-filled corridor.
- Purple gem: Restrooms - Use dark light to reveal a grate on the floor of the men's bathroom that you can see in a mirror. As Gooigi head down and turn the valve to fix the broken toilet in the women's bathroom. Head back up and use a plunger to remove the vent cover on the left wall of the men's, then send Gooigi through to collect the gem from the left cubicle.
- Yellow gem: Accessories - Use a plunger on the cases in the middle display to throw them and smash the glass cabinet on the back wall, releasing your prize.
4F Gem locations – The Great Stage
- White gem: Restroom - In the Women's Restroom you'll see a faucet that isn't there, use the dark light on it and then defeat the ghost that drips out when you turn it on.
- Red gem: Dressing Room - Backstage you'll find a piano that's not playing its best tune. Use the dark light to restore its keys and it'll sound like gold. Or Red, in this case.
- Blue gem: Concession Stand - Get into this room by using Gooigi to slip through the barrier in the Men's restroom and pull the flush, opening up the Boo. Interact with the Boo and you'll spin into the Concession Stand. The gem is in the safe which will only open once you play the correct tune. Luckily that tune is just the bottles left to right, so blowing the poltergust at bottletop height and walking slowly to the right will open up.
- Green gem: Auditorium - On stage there is a suspicious square in the floor. Burst it (ZL+ZR) and you'll reveal a socket. Use SUPER Suction on it (requires Poltergust upgrade) and it'll open up the wall at the back. Defeat the ghostly orchestra and head through the TV. Once you've cleaned up all the popcorn you'll find a gem.
- Purple gem: Elevator Hall - Blow the tuba right next to the elevator and when the gem flies out of the top, use Gooigi to suck it up.
- Yellow gem: Elevator Hall - At the far left side of the hall, past the entrance to the Auditorium, there's a popcorn machine. Keep flashing it to make more popcorn.
5F Gem locations – RIP Suites
- White gem: Room 508, balcony - after E. Gadd's briefcase is stolen by the maid, head out the back door onto the balcony. Look through the telescope for a bit and a ghost will appear, defeat it for your gem.
- Red gem: Room 501, balcony - Using your dark light, reveal a door that lets you through onto the ledges outside the 5F hallway. Walk around to a gargoyle where you can get the red gem out of its mouth.
- Blue gem: Laundry Room - The laundry room is behind the vending machine, once inside use a plunger on the vent in the back left corner to get the gem out.
- Green gem: Hallway - Suck the ball out of the statue's hand and then fire it at the head next to it to drop the gem out of its mouth.
- Purple gem: Room 507, Bathroom - Find the hidden crawlspace behind the curtain at the back of the room, then use a plunger on the suitcase to get it out the way. You can walk through the drywall partition to get the gem.
- Yellow gem: Room 502, Bathroom - Fill the bathtub with water by using your Poltergust to turn the taps. Once it's full a yellow box will drop out, break it open for the gem inside.
6F Gem locations – Castle MacFrights
- White gem: Colisseum Balcony - After the boss fight, head up the stairs to the exit, and while running around the upper seating tier you'll spot a knight's armor having a bit more than popcorn as a snack. Vacuum up the popcorn bag and the sword will pop out.
- Red gem: Hall of Armor - Use dark light to reveal a suit that should be standing where it isn't, then use your plunger on its breastplate/cuirass to smash it open for the gem inside.
- Blue gem: Cellar - Use a plunger on the right-most wine barrel/keg and go inside. Turn right once inside the barrel and you'll go through a hidden hole in the wall into a crawlspace with a ladder. Climb up it to reach the gem on the rafters.
- Green gem: Royal Coffers - You can find this hidden room behind the last tapestry in the Colisseum Hallway, before entering the colisseum for the boss fight. Rip the tapestry off the wall with your Poltergust and you'll notice a suspiciously door-shaped recess in the wall. Use your dark light to reveal the door and head inside for riches galore! Suck them all up and a gem is hiding underneath.
- Purple gem: Armory - Use the plunger on the suspiciously sticking out bricks on the middle pillar. A chest will be revealed containing the purple gem.
- Yellow gem: Cage Lift Room - Reveal the sarcophagus on the right side with dark light and head through for a mini puzzle. When you return to this room, ghosts will ambush you. Defeat them and a small fan will appear on the left wall. Use the blow function of the Poltergust to lower the cage containing the yellow gem and then use Gooigi to walk inside to claim it.
7F Gem locations – Garden Suites
- White gem: Ivy Bathroom - In the bathroom full of watermelons you'll see a floor grate in the mirror, use dark light to reveal it and then turn on the bathtub faucets by blowing on the taps. Send Gooigi down the floor grate and a plant will be growing down there. Flash it to claim the gem.
- Red gem: Blooming Suite - On the nearside of the four-poster bed there is a bedside table with a circle on it. Hit a plunger right into the middle of it to let you pull it out and reveal a pipe grate. Let Gooigi slip inside to end up on top of the bed. Flash the plant up there to reveal the gem.
- Blue gem: Atrium - After you've opened up the big plant at the top of the Atrium, don't head down straight away. Continue to the left and vacuum the fern bridge to unroll it across the gap. Then head across and round the window ledge to a hidden room you can spot from the main path.
- Green gem: Mushroom Suite - Pull the curtains off the back of the four-poster on the left to reveal a ramp down to the underfloor section. Flash the plant on the right hand side and then have Gooigi go through a pipe at the back-right of the area to pick up the gem that pops out.
- Purple gem: Blooming Bathroom - Clear all the piles of leaves and petals and you'll see a gem in the bath. Send Gooigi down the floor grate near the toilet and then clear away the leaves in the back right of this underfloor area, they're covering up a pipe. Enter that pipe grate to head up into the bath and claim the gem.
- Yellow gem: Elevator Hall - The third painting is a dark light painting, shining your dark light at it will reveal a yellow gem flower just below. Use your Poltergust on the gem before picking it up.
8F Gem locations – Paranormal Productions
- White gem: Studio 3 - That bike in the back left corner of the city set looks suspiciously like E.T. huh? Use your Poltergust on the blanket and find out who's swaddled inside (hint: it's a ghost, defeat it for your gem).
- Red gem: Studio Entrance - To the left of the room directly outside the Backstage door there's a carpet with a potted plant on it. Remove the plant by using the plunger and then sucking up the knot to smash it, then you can use the Poltergust to roll up the carpet and reveal a gem underneath.
- Blue gem: Backstage - Head over to the dolly crane in the back left corner and climb on as Luigi. Use Gooigi to then blow on the rotary handle to extend the scissor lift. Carefully walk onto the lighting rig as Luigi and walk all the way around until you reach the gem frozen in an ice cube. You'll need to activate the TV inside the city soundstage (studio 3) so you can bring the frozen gem in there. Use Gooigi to hold the cube while you activate the camera as Luigi, then you can hold the gem over the flames that burst through the door of the apartment building to melt the gem out.
- Green gem: Studio 4 - Have Gooigi squeeze inside the oversized glass bottle to the left of the cardboard box.
- Purple gem: Elevator Hall - Use the Poltergust on the helicopter just as you come out of the elevator, when it lowers all the way a gem will jump out.
- Yellow gem: Studio Entrance - Suck up the handle on the film reel on the reception desk and pull, it'll open up a secret compartment. You'll have to have Gooigi slip between the bars behind the desk to collect the gem that drops out.
9F Gem locations – Unnatural History Museum
- White gem:
- Red gem: Elevator Hall - Spin the desk chair behind the information desk in front of the elevator for a while.
- Blue gem:
- Green gem:

- Yellow gem: Elevator Hall - Follow the hall around until you reach the grand unveiling red curtains which you need to pull with both Luigi and Gooigi. The Yellow gem is in a glass case to the right of the curtains. You'll need the plunger suction cup upgrade to smash these glass cases.
