It’s a good time to be a World of Warcraft fan as Blizzard has worked hard to keep gamers fed with highly requested content. Given the success of World of Warcraft Classic, it should come as no surprise that we’re also getting a new expansion for modern WoW in 2020. Behold… Shadowlands!

A cinematic trailer provided by Blizzard gives us a glimpse at the next expansion for modern World of Warcraft. With a title like Shadowlands, World of Warcraft fans can expect an intense narrative and exciting new pieces of content. It’s not all new, though. In the trailer, we see the return of fan favorite characters, Sylvanas and Bolvar.
Based on what’s shown in the cinematic story trailer, Sylvanas will rip open a portal to Shadowlands after a tense exchange with Bolvar. What lies in wait for players in Shadowlands is anyone’s guess at this point, but damn if we’re not excited to find out. An official release date has yet to be announced, though Blizzard has confirmed the expansion will be available in 2020.
