Need for Speed Heat exclusively uses automatic saves. Because of this, you won’t be able to manually save your game before you close out of it. Keeping this in mind, there are a few surefire ways to trigger an autosave in Need for Speed Heat. You’ll know the game is autosaving as an NFS logo appears at the bottom right corner of your screen.

When the logo disappears, the game has finished autosaving. To trigger an autosave, you can do things like visit your garage, use fast travel, complete a race, participate in an event, and so on. Just about everything you do will trigger an autosave at some point, though the quickest way is usually by fast travel to a safe house, or returning to your garage.

After all, you won’t have to complete an entire event just to autosave if you decide you’re done for the night. Simply return to your garage or fast travel to a safe house, then look for the autosave logo at the bottom right corner. Once the logo disappears, you’ll know your game has been properly saved up to that point.
