Cal’s lightsaber is core to the combat and general experience of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, so why not treat it to a fresh lick of pain? Blue and Green are boring lightsaber colors, but if you want to switch it up you’ll need to make it to certain stages in the game’s story. Unlike upgrades such as the Double-Bladed lightsaber, you can’t find new lightsaber colors by exploring the hidden avenues of each planet. Instead, they’re obtained by playing through the main story. At one key point in the plot you’ll have the chance to collect a new Kyber crystal that unlocks all of the lightsaber colors but one. Below we’ll detail when you get access to them, so click away now if you don’t want any spoilers.
- Cyan: Unlocked when you get a Kyber crystal on Ilum
- Indigo: Unlocked when you get a Kyber crystal on Ilum
- Magenta: Unlocked when you get a Kyber crystal on Ilum
- Purple: Unlocked when you get a Kyber crystal on Ilum
- Yellow: Unlocked when you get a Kyber crystal on Ilum
- Orange: Only available as a preorder bonus
When you get to the Jedi Temple and grab the Kyber crystal on Ilum you’ll swap to one new color of your choice. However, you’ll also unlock all of the other colors to use whenever you like simply by finding the nearest workbench. Orange is the only exception to the other lightsaber colors, and that’s because it’s only available to those who preordered the game. Respawn Entertainment has not stated whether it will ever be released to other players.
Can you get a Red Lightsaber?
Sadly, no. Cal being a goody twoshoes means he's not allowed to be swayed by the Dark Side and grab himself a cool red lightsaber. Or at least, not for now. Who knows what Respawn has planned for future updates of Jedi: Fallen order, perhaps a red lightsaber will be included if there's enough demand.
