The method to get Bright Dust in Destiny 2 has changed throughout the game’s life. While previously you could dismantle old items, you’ll no longer receive Bright Dust for doing so. If you want to save up for that shiny cosmetic of choice, you should instead get Bright Dust in Destiny 2 by doing any of the following activities:
- Complete Gambit bounties
- Complete Crucible bounties
- Complete Vanguard bounties
- Complete Seasonal Event bounties
- Break down Bright Engrams
Following the introduction of Shadowkeep, the primary way to earn Bright Dust is through weekly, repeatable Bounties. There are plenty of them to complete, so here’s hoping the rate at which players can save up for their desired look has improved somewhat. Beating all of the weekly bounties should net you around 200 Bright Dust, all in all. Then again, it doesn’t hurt to splash out every now and again if you’ve got the cash to spare.
