Watch all the Super Smash Bros reveal trailers, combined

You can now enjoy the ultimate announcement experience thanks to a video which combines every Super Smash Bros. character reveal trailer into one.

Starting in the days of Super Smash Bros. for WiiU, the Smash series has had a whopping 34 reveal trailers so far, starting with the humble villager and ending with the final character of  Fighter Pass 1, Byleth. That’s a whole lot of shock, joy and disappointment Nintendo has delivered out to waiting fans over the years.

YouTuber AndrewTheNintendrone clearly loved the announcements more than most, and has put together a video featuring every single reveal trailer. No, they’re not in sequence — we don’t have all day, after all. Instead, all the trailers play out at once, syncing up for one glorious moment as the character reveal image flares up on the screen.

It kicks off with Castlevania’s Simon reveal trailer (you know, the one in which Luigi literally dies), building up into a cacophony of sound over which only Ryu’s fearsome cry of “HADOUKEN!” stands out. It’s an awful, obnoxious, and beautiful thing. If we had to suffer through it, then so do you. The videos all align at around 2:17, creating the beautiful spread shown below. We’ve got to say “Corrin Chooses to Smash” has got to be the weakest of all the Smash entry lines.

Character reveal trailers have become a bit of a cultural phenomenon in gaming, particularly when it comes to Ultimate’s DLC roster. Extensive custom animations are now produced for each fighter, often with the help of the teams behind the game. Meetups are organized for the sole purpose of watching the announcement. For those who’ve not been keeping count, here are all of the characters given trailers so far:

Oh, and would you look at that, the video conveniently has space for six more videos, and Fighter Pass 2 is promising exactly that. I guess we’ll be seeing you back here in a year for another Smash character reveal showcase, folks!
