The first DLC expansion for Luigi’s Mansion 3, the Multiplayer Pack - Part 1, is now available for purchase. The news of the DLC’s release comes as something of a surprise as it wasn’t expected to be released until April 30. Speeding things up a bit, Nintendo dropped the Multiplayer Pack early on March 3 to the excitement of many Luigi’s Mansion 3 players.

The first DLC expansion for Luigi’s Mansion 3 adds new multiplayer features to both ScreamPark and ScareScraper modes, along with new costumes and customization options. In ScareScraper mode, three new costumes were added for Luigi like Mummigi, The Green Knight, and Groovigi.
Not only do the costumes give Luigi new style options to choose from, they also impact the look of the floors which support matching themes and Battle Ghosts. For ScreamPark, the DLC introduces three new minigames including Tricky Ghost Brawl, Dodge Brawl, and River Bank.
Of the three, Dodge Brawl looks particularly fun as it’s a play on dodgeball using the Poltergust G-00 to pick up and toss red balls.
When you score a hit, you deal damage, with each player having three hearts at the start of the match. As you’d expect, the last Luigi standing wins. Something to keep in mind is the cost of the DLC at $9.99 (USD). Anyone who pre-purchases will have access not only to Part 1 which was released on March 3, but Part 2 once it’s released.
Additionally – and this is perhaps the most important feature – buying the DLC gives you access to a new flashlight called Flashlight Type-P. With this flashlight, you can project the world’s cutest Polterpup wherever you shine your light. As of right now, Part 2 of the DLC for Luigi’s Mansion 3 is set to release on July 31 of this year.
Although, seeing as how Part 1 released nearly two months ahead of schedule, we have a feeling that Part 2 may release early as well. Finally, Nintendo dropped a patch (1.3.0) for Luigi’s Mansion 3 alongside the DLC with the full patch notes listed below for your convenience.
Added Features
- Games in the ScreamPark can now be played with just one player (this is a practice mode without any opponents).
The following content was added to ScareScraper:
- Added a 20-floor mode.
- Five new types of rare ghosts will now appear.
- Ghosts will now appear in Defeat the Crows! and Collect the Gold! missions.
- Added a link to How to Play in the menu.
- Added Albums, where players can listen to the game’s BGM. To access Albums, go from Story ? Gallery ? Special Content.
Added Multiplayer Pack Features
- Added three new games to ScreamPark.
The following content was added to ScareScraper:
- Added three costumes.
- Added three new floor themes and six kinds of themed ghosts that will appear when Luigi wears one of the new costumes.
- Players who do not have the Multiplayer Pack can see these as well.
Story
- Fixed an issue that prevented Luigi from moving near the door when capturing a Boo in the hallway of the Hotel Shops.
- Fixed an issue that prevented Luigi from moving behind a bench in Studio 3 of Paranormal Productions.
- Fixed an issue that prevented the game from progressing after touching the shark fin on the beach of The Spectral Catch.
ScareScraper
- Added/adjusted the attack pattern of Boolossus.
- Fixed an issue in Find the Toads! missions that prevented the Toads from moving and/or being able to enter the portals.
General
- Fixed several issues to improve gameplay experience.
