You’re a good resident, so you’ve probably done your best to rescue poor old Gulliver each time he’s washed up on your island. Asking you to collect Communication Parts to get him home, he’ll have you digging up your beaches in search of the stuff he needs. Collect a lot and you’ll find your community box contains a Rusted Part or two after he sends you a gift. Rusted sounds rubbish, right? This item is actually extremely rare though, so don’t go selling it! In this guide we’ll explain what to do with Rusted Parts in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
What to do with Rusted Parts in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Despite its lackluster name, the Ruster Part in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is actually an extremely rare material. It takes a long time to build up a stash of them from helping Gulliver, so put any you collect in safe keeping. Now if you want to know what to do with the Rusted Parts you collect, they won’t find a use until much, much later in the game.
Once you’ve developed your town much more thoroughly, you’ll gain access to some more advanced crafting recipes. One of these is the Robot hero, a massive Gundam-style statue you can erect in your town. It'll cost 5000 Noom Miles to obtain the recipe, and then to create it, you’ll need to have collected 30 Rusted Parts as well as plenty of other goods, which is quite a lot!
If you’re not fussed about getting the Robot Hero, feel free to sell the Rusted Parts for a boost in Bells, but we’d recommend holding on to them so that you can build it just in case you change your mind.
How to get Rusted Parts
As noted above, to get Rusted Parts you need to help out Gulliver any time he washed up on your island. The next day you can check your Recycling Bin to find a Rusted Part sitting inside. It’s a weird method, but it seems to work for us, so we’re not complaining! Gulliver shows up multiple times a week in most cases, so make sure you’re checking for him so you can get those parts!
