Each day, you’re able to dig up Fossils on your island and on mystery islands that you visit in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. You’ll know you’ve found a Fossil when you see a star-shaped symbol on the ground. After digging up a Fossil, there are a few options available to you. You can take it to Blathers and have him assess the Fossil.

If you haven’t already donated that Fossil, you can donate it to Blathers for him to display in his museum. If you’ve already donated that Fossil, Blathers will return it to you. Over in the Nook’s Cranny shop, you can sell Fossils for a sizable amount of Bells. Alternatively, you can keep these Fossils and display them on your island for visitors to scope out.

If you’re thinking about selling, or are wondering what Fossils you’re missing, we’ve got you covered. Below, we’ve listed all Fossils and how many Bells you’ll earn when you sell them in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

As you can see with many of these Fossils, you’ll need to find several different parts in order to complete the dinosaur. For example, you can dig up a Styraco Skull, but you’ll also need to dig up its torso and tail in order to complete it. There's no easy way to view the Fossils you've collected and donated to Blathers without visiting his museum.

Inside, you can walk around the exhibit of Fossils to see which displays have been completed, which ones are missing pieces, and which ones are empty. Furthermore, whenever Blathers assesses a Fossil and determines that he already has it, you know you're safe to keep or sell it.

Every day, you should take the time to fully explore your island in order to spot all of the star-shaped dig sites. In doing so, you should be able to grow your Fossil collection quickly. You can also earn quite a few Bells whenever you dig up duplicates!
