Far Cry 2 now backwards compatible on Xbox One

Microsoft has added a trio of new Xbox 360 games to the ranks of titles that are now compatible with Xbox One.

Far Cry 2, Driver: San Francisco and Sniper Elite V2 are the latest additions, and as with existing titles on the growing list, you just need to put the original disc in the Xbox One and it will automatically download a compatibility patch.

Alternatively, if you don't own Far Cry 2 or Sniper Elite V2 already, you can just buy them through the Xbox One store for $5.99 or $29.99 respectively. Driver: San Francisco is only available digitally if previously purchased.

As you can see from the list on Major Nelson's blog, there's a huge range of Xbox 360 titles compatible with Xbox One nowadays, including heavy hitters like the Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty and Halo series.

We particularly recommend checking out the likes of Assassin's Creed, Halo 3, Fallout 3 and Oblivion if you're an Xbox One X owner, because those titles have 4K updates too. Check out our piece on the best 4K games to play on your new Xbox One X for more info.
