Flame Fatales is an all-women speedrunning event next month

Supporting the Malala Fund with faced-paced gaming.

If the recent Summer Games Done Quick showcase antics only left you hankering for even more high-octane video gaming, let Flame Fatales fill the void next month with a full further week of races.

The all-women event is being hosted on the Games Done Quick Twitch channel. It’s being run in support of the Malala Fund, a non-profit organization which aims to ensure “every girl’s right to 12 years of free, safe, quality education.” The organization was set up in 2013 by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai and her father.

Flame Fatales will take place over an entire week, starting from Sunday, August 15 and running through Sunday, August 22. This year’s speedrunning showcase is hosting a whole range of games and genres, including custom Celeste maps, Immortal: Fenyx Rising, The Pathless, Cadence of Hyrule, and Cat Quest. Something for everyone, in short.

Last year’s event raised a tidy sum of $80k for the non-profit, so if you’d like to see this year’s total push higher, now’s the time to mark your calendars. The full schedule is available to check here, and submissions are still open for Volunteer helpers and prize submissions.
