Throughout your time in Control you’ll take several trips to the quaint-yet-eerie Oceanview Motel. Each journey there will task you with solving a new simple puzzle based on synchronicity before you can collect the key required to return to the bureau. One of these you might find yourself stuck on is the Clock Puzzle reached as you head towards the Containment sector. It’s only a matter of time before you figure it out, but to help you save some seconds we’ve put together a quick guide on how to solve the Oceanview Motel Clock Puzzle in Control.
How to solve the Oceanview Motel Clock Puzzle in Control
To solve the Oceanview Motel Clock Puzzle, you need to set the time in each room to match the clock on the lobby desk. Each time you press the desk bell, you’ll open the door to one of the three rooms down the hall. You’ll also cause the clock on the desk to spin to a certain time. Take note of it, then head to the corresponding room and interact (Square on PS4) with the clock there.
Hit the interact button again while inspecting the clock to start the timer spinning. Pressing the button again will stop the clock. If you’re close to the corresponding time it will lock into place. Head back to the lobby, hit the bell again and take note of the time once more. For example, in the picture below the time listed is 5:20. We then head to the open room and adjust the clock there to match. We started off thinking that all clocks had to be set to the same time, but the Oceanview Motel Clock Puzzle solution is actually a fractionally more challenging task.
Once all three clocks have been set to the matching times, they’ll lock in place and you’ll hear a sound effect. Return to the desk and you’ll find the key has appeared on the countertop and the desk clock is at 12 O’Clock. Grab the keys and walk to the other corridor when you can now open the inverted black triangle door to return via the Light Switch Cord.
