If you’ve been eagerly awaiting the expansion’s release, the first thing you’ll likely want to know is how to start Iceborne in Monster Hunter World. While the process is relatively straightforward, there are a few key steps that need to be completed in order to officially begin Iceborne. The first thing you need to do in order to start Iceborne in Monster Hunter World is purchase and download the DLC expansion for $39.99 (USD). Iceborne is available for Monster Hunter World on all platforms, you can also purchase the DLC along with a copy of Monster Hunter World if you don’t already own the game.

Once you’ve purchased and downloaded the Iceborne expansion of Monster Hunter World, you’ll need to launch the game. After launching the game, you’ll be given a quest to speak with Fiesty Fiver in Astera. Head over and speak with Fiesty Fiver, then accept the quest leading you into the Ancient Forest. Note this should be a simple quest to complete where all you need to do is follow along and search for clues. At the end, you’ll view a brief cutscene before returning to Astera.

Once you’re back in Astera, you’ll need to speak with the Commander who sends you off on a ship towards the new region of Iceborne, letting you fully start the Iceborne expansion in Monster Hunter World. Not only is the Iceborne expansion huge, it includes a wealth of new content for Monster Hunter World owners including the new home base of Seliana, new enemies, weapons, and more. Again, repeat the steps listed above and you should have no trouble jumping into Iceborn in Monster Hunter World!
