To keep your puppet alive in tougher fights and areas, you’ll need to learn all Lies of P status effects, including how they affect you and how to cure them. Described as Ailments, status effects introduces a negative penality on the player, though some also offer bonuses too. Below, we’ll explain all status effects in Lies of P so that you’re prepared for everything the game’s enemies, areas, and bosses can inflict on you.
Lies of P status effects explained

Lies of P has seven main status effects that can affect the player: Break, Corruption, Decay, Disruption, Electric Shock, Overheat, and Shock. These can be built up through environmental hazards or attacks from enemies. When the status bar at the bottom of the screen fills up, the player is affected by the ailment until the bar drains again. Here’s what each ailment does:
Break status effect
Reduces health recovery from Pulse Cells while active. If possible, waiting for the effect to drain or be nullified before healing is recommended. Cured by using a Special Purification Ampoule.
Corruption status effect
Deals steady damage over time to the player until the bar empties. Corruption is built up by standing in toxic water environments. Cured by using an Attribute Purification Ampoule.
Decay status effect
Increases Acid damage received by the player and enemies. Deals steady Acid damage to the player and steadily decreases weapon durability while active. The grinder can be used to repair your weapon if at risk of breaking. Decay is caused by enemies with Acid attacks. Cured by using an Attribute Purification Ampoule.
Disruption status effect
Causes instant death when the status effect bar is filled. Avoid taking repeated hits within a short amount of time from enemies which inflict Disruption. Thankfully there’s no Dark Souls Basilisk HP curse to contend with here. Cured by using a Special Purification Ampoule.
Electric Shock status effect
Increases Electric Blitz damage taken by the player and enemies while active. Continuously drains the Fable meter while active. Electric Shock is caused by enemies with Electric Blitz attacks. Cured by using an Attribute Purification Ampoule.
Overheat status effect
Increases Fire damage taken by the player and enemies while active. Deals continuous, rapid Fire damage to the player while active. Also reduces Guard Regain while active. Using a Purification Ampoule is highly recommended when afflicted with Overheat. Cured by using an Attribute Purification Ampoule.
Shock status effect
Drastically reduces stamina recovery rate while active. This reduces the player’s ability to dodge and attack, significantly hindering combat capabilities. Cured by using a Special Purification Ampoule.
How to cure status effects in Lies of P

Lies of P includes two items which can instantly cure status effects: the Attribute Purification Ampoule and Special Purification Ampoule. Here are the statuses each one cures.
- Attribute Purification Ampoule: Cures Overheat, Electric Shock, Decay, and Corruption.
- Special Purification Ampoule: Cures Shock, Break, and Disruption.
The rate at which each Lies of P status effect builds up from the environment or attacks can also be slowed by using a Resistance Ampoule. Much like the Purification Ampoules, there are two of these.
- Attribute Resistance Ampoule: Increases resistance to Overheat, Electric Shock, Decay, and Corruption.
- Special Resistance Ampoule: Increases resistance to Shock, Break, and Disruption.

All Lies of P status effects can cause major issues for the player while active. While it's best to avoid suffering from them at all, make sure that you're saving enough Purification Ampoules for more serious encounters like boss fights.
